Satan loves to take positive things and craft very deceptive counterfeits. One example is taking our desire to be ‘good’ here on earth and distorting it into a false belief that the measure of our ‘goodness’ equals the measure of our value. And, what follows that is the self-judgment of our goodness and value, which will always come up short. And, what follows that is the fear of God’s judgment of our goodness and thus our value to Him, which we are also sure will come up short. And, what naturally follows that is wanting to distance ourselves from this judgment and feeling a lack of value. And so, Satan can take our desire to be ‘good’ and cunningly lead us to isolating ourselves from the source of all goodness – Our Heavenly Father. What a deceptive counterfeit!
