As heat is applied to pressure cookers, steam builds. This creates pressure within. It you take the lid off when it is at full pressure, you will have an explosive mess on your hands! The only safe way to open the pressure cooker is to turn down the heat. After it cools down, you can safely open the lid and see the delicious meal inside.
Pressure builds for us as well as we go through our workday. On occasion, do we walk through the door of our homes at the end of the day and ‘blow our top’ creating an explosive mess? What if we took a moment in the driveway to turn down the heat by offering a prayer, casting the burdens of the day to our Savior, inviting the spirit of peace and love to be with us and then walking into our homes trailing angels? May your home be a safe haven which shall be delicious unto you!!
